Rosa is a kindergarten Instructional Assistant at High Point Academy.
Caitlin Feakes is a first grade teacher at High Point Academy. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education with a concentration in Early Childhood Education from the University of Wyoming. Before joining High Point she worked as an associate teacher in a first/second grade classroom at The Logan School for Creative Learning. Caitlin is a Colorado native and in her free time she likes to read, walk her dog, and spend time in the mountains.
Teresa Fechtig is a kindergarten teacher at High Point Academy. This is her second year teaching kindergarten and her eleventh year with the school. Before working at High Point Academy, Teresa was the director of a day program for intellectually challenged adults. She earned her bachelor’s degree in sociology and psychology from Southwest Baptist University and her master’s degree in elementary education from the University of Phoenix. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, spending time with her new husband, Mark, her three kids and their dog, Bubba.
Sandy Garcia is a second grade IA at High Point Academy. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology as well as a minor in social sciences from Peru State College. She is also a softball coach at Strasburg High School. In her free time, she enjoys watching the Rockies play and loves to play slow pitch softball.
Kaylarae Griffeth is a second grade teacher at High Point Academy. She earned her Bachelor of Science from Colorado State University. Prior to coming to High Point Academy she worked with Prekindergarten as well as student taught in fourth and first grade last year. In her free time she enjoys yoga, concerts, and rooting on her favorite football team.
Hannah Lenz is a first grade teacher at High Point Academy. She earned her bachelors in business administration from Colorado State University and will graduate in December 2017 with a masters in education. Prior to joining High Point Academy, Hannah worked in before and after school care, was a special education para, and did her one year student teaching through the Boettcher Teacher Residency Program. In her free time she enjoys watching the Broncos, reading, painting, and crafting. Hannah is a Colorado native and her and her husband have two dogs.
Stefanie Lunceford is a kindergarten teacher at High Point Academy. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Bible from Oklahoma Christian University and she has just completed the elementary education certification program at Metropolitan State University of Denver. She worked with our third graders in the spring of the 2012-2013 school year as a student teacher and we are excited to have her back. Previously she has worked as a nanny for several families in the Denver metro area and as a special education paraprofessional in several preschool through fifth grade schools in Kansas, Montana, and Colorado. In her free time she enjoys writing poetry and prose. She also has a great love of running and plans to run a half marathon this year.
Tammi holds an Early Childhood teaching license as well as a Director qualification. She has attained a dual masters degree in Education as well as Clinical Psychology. She has been working in the field of Early Childhood since 2000 in various roles both in teaching as well as in administrative positions. Tammi has a passion for helping students with various needs to be successful in school. She loves spending time with her four kiddos and husband and on the weekends she is usually on the sports fields watching them play soccer.
Michelle has been with High Point Academy since 2009 teaching first grade. She received her Bachelors in Elementary Education from the University of Colorado at Denver in 2007. She is also the primary team lead. Michelle is a Colorado Native, who has grown up in the Aurora area her whole life. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her family, her dog Bojangles and watching the Florida Gators.
Jenelle Payne is a kindergarten teacher at High Point Academy. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Adams State University in English communications and journalism. Last school year she was an instructional assistant for third grade and also took over as a third grade long term sub. Before coming to High Point Academy she worked for Upward Bound for four years teaching creative writing to high school seniors. In her free time she enjoys basketball, skiing, photography, writing, spending time with family and she loves doing volunteer work.
Marilynn is a first-grade Instructional Assistant at High Point Academy. She attended Colorado Colleges specializing in Early Childhood Education. Marilyn has worked with children for many years. She enjoys being able to watch children achieve their dreams. She is excited to be apart of the HPA family.
Katie Riggs is a second-grade teacher at High Point Academy. She earned a Bachelor of Science from the University of Colorado – Boulder. Prior to joining the second-grade team, she was a substitute teacher. She also spent time as a literacy tutor, a teaching assistant in Costa Rica, and a communications manager in the hospitality industry. She enjoys spending her free time with her family and friends, as well as traveling, hiking, cooking, crafting, and going to baseball and football games.
Jessica Yanker is a second grade teacher at High Point Academy. Jessica earned your Bachelor of Arts in International Affairs with a minor in Economics from the University of Colorado – Boulder. Prior to joining the staff at High Point Academy she worked at Denver Public Schools. In her free time she enjoys spending time with friends and family, traveling, playing volleyball, hiking, and spending time outside.
